use of this system really free? Is use of this system really free? Yes. There are no charges to register, to post an ad, or to respond to an ad. Are there any eligibility requirements to become a member of Kentuckiana Singles? Members must
be at least 18 years of age. What's the difference between a member and a guest? Guests may browse the ads. Membership is required to post an ad or to send messages to other members. What are the steps in becoming a member? To become a member, you must first register by clicking on the "Register" link on the personal ads page. After you register, you will be approved by administration. Within 24 hours (usually much more quickly than that), you will receive an e-mail message notifying you that your membership has been approved. Then you may post an ad of your own, may respond to other members' ads via e-mail, and may post to the discussion board. How does the anonymous e-mail system work on Kentuckiana Singles? You can send another member a message by clicking on the "Contact This Person" link in that member's ad. The e-mail
system used on Kentuckiana Singles simply forwards your message to the
member you are writing to, but it strips the headings of the message of
your real name and e-mail address. It does give your Kentuckiana
Singles username, so that the other member can look you up and write back
to you, using your username. This protects a member’s privacy, so that a member may remain
anonymous until ready to divulge his or her name, phone number, or
e-mail address. The message is sent via regular e-mail, and shows up in the member's regular e-mail inbox. so that the person you are writing to does not need to log on to Kentuckiana Singles to receive the message, but the return address on the message is our server. (Similarly, of course, messages sent to you by other members will appear in your regular e-mail inbox.) As the message comes from our server,
you cannot
simply click on Reply to send a response.
To respond to an e-mail address, go to the
personal ad section and
go to the sender’s ad (use the search form at the top of the page,
entering the sender’s username), and then click on the “Contact this
Person” link, and send your
message. Please note that the contents of your e-mail messages are not received at, available to, or stored by Kentuckiana Singles. If you receive an abusive message from another user, please notify admin@kentuckianasingles.com. While Kentuckiana Singles is not responsible for the contents of messages sent by members, we will ban users from the system who are abusive to other members. How do I reply to a message I received from another member? To respond to a message you received in e-mail from another member message, follow these steps: 1. Click on the link in the message received (or copy and paste it into your browser), and you'll get the reply form. That link is http://www.kentuckianasingles.com/cgi-bin/personals.cgi?mailbox . If clicking on the link won't work for you, you can copy and paste it into the address bar of your browser. 2. Type in your Username. (If you don't know your Username, see What if I forget my username?) 3. Type in your password. (If you don't know your password, see What if I forget my password?) 4. Type in the Username of the member who sent you the message. On the message you received it says: "Message sent by" and then it gives that member's Username 5. On the message you received it also says "Mailbox Number is" and it gives you a number. Put this number (type or copy and paste) on the reply form where it says "Box Number of Person Responding to" 6. Type your message in the box that says "Your Message Here" 7. Click the Send button. How
do I post my photograph on my ad? We encourage each
member to post his or her
photograph on the ad. t
is known that ads with photos get three to four times more responses than ads
without photos. It is also
true that people who meet people through photo ads are much more likely
to have a second meeting than are people who meet
through ads that do not include photos. When you post your ad there is a link to upload your photo. Then you are presented with the web address of your photo, and you are to copy and paste (or type) that address into the box marked for that purpose. Your photo cannot be larger than 60 KB and should not be bigger than 4 inches across. For the web it should be at a resolution of 72 pixels per inch (sometimes called dots per inch). If you have a photo that needs to be converted to these requirements, you can send it to photos@kentuckianasingles.com , along with your name and username, and we will post it for you. You can also send in your photo via U.S. mail, and we will scan the photo, at no charg
Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you want your photo returned to you. Go to the Personal Ad section, click on the User Area link, and then click on the Lookup Username button. Your password will be e-mailed to the address you gave when you registered. How long is my membership good for? All memberships are for one year. You can renew your membership indefinitely. You canb cancel your membership at any time. How do I edit or delete my ad? Go to the Personal Ad area, click on the User Area button, enter your username and password, and you will then be able to change your ad or delete it. Go to the Personal Ad area, click on the User Area button, click on the Change Registration button, and then you can change your password. How can I change my e-mail address? Go to the Personal Ad area, click on the User Area button, click on the Change Registration button, and then you can change your e-mail address. How can I change my mailing address? Go to the Personal Ad area, use the Search function at the top of the page Can I be a member and not post an ad? We encourage all members should have ads posted within a couple of days after registering. This is so people can have some information about people from whom they receive e-mail. Registrations from people who do not post ads may be deleted from the system. I tried to post my ad, but it didn't show up. What's wrong? You probably just previewed your ad. After you enter your ad, you click on "Preview My Ad." Then, at the bottom of the screen, you need to click on "Post My Ad." Your ad should appear immediately once it is posted.
